Feedback & Feature Requests
There is nothing more depressing than filling out the Link Color form when you have 3 or four variables you want to view, each of which has 10 to 15 values. There are 2 things that would make this bearable:
1) allow the definition via a .csv file.
I then could set break points, colors, and variables with global changes in a spreadsheet
2) parameterize the variable "tested" for the format.
I should be able to change, in one place, e.g. "AreaType" for "FacilityType" or "Capacity/2000" without re-typing 30 entries.
I agree it is depressing! But I am new to cube, and don't follow your solutions, can you expand them with a bit more detail.
All the display settings are saved in a visual project file (*.VPR) which is a text-based file. It is therefore possible to edit this file before opening the network using a text editor. This way you can do 'search and replace' if you have a lot of changes to make and make other changes too. The colors and symbols may take some working out...I'll see if we have a chart and get back to you. I've even seen people using the MATRIX program and RECI/RECO to automatically change specific parts of the file regarding the latest run results.
The text below creates the form below.
This is the problem. I want to open the network, then look at 4 or 5 different data views. Since this functionality exists, it would be nice to have a "reader" helper program convert this text string into a color specification on the fly.
I'd like to make this a formal feature request.
I want to be able to open a network and, in the same window, switch between various color/variable plots, or change bandwidths, or include/exclude link sets.
