I've heard that CUBE Avenue has limited memory capacity and cannot be applied for DTA at regional scale such as DTA modeling for a metropolitan area. Has anyone used CUBE Avenue for DTA at regional scale? have you had any problem regarding low memory?
I appreciate your response
The current version of Cube Avenue can use up to a maximum of 2GB of memory on a 32-bit computer and 4GB of memory on a 64-bit computer. This amount should be able to handle most of the models. The size of the memory depends on the size of the trip matrix (total number of trips you are trying to assign) and the number of pathload statements. There are ways to optimize the memory requirements such as bucket rounding. This should take care of any issues with memory and you should not run into any problems even with large size models.
The upcoming release of Avenue is based on 64-bit code which does not have any memory restrictions. It should be able to use as much memory (RAM) you have on your computer.
