How to give criteria in highway link colour specification?
You can give And/Or conditions like this.
I hope this helps.
If the criteria to be provided is based on type of road, what is the method? I want to colour it based on type of road, ie. primary, secondary, etc.
You can set a criteria to something similar as what is shown below. Please note each model network is different so you will have to locate the correct attribute. The semi-colon(;) is to allow comments where the user can describe in detail what the classification is (e.g. "; Major Arterial", "; LOS A").
Visual Display of Network
Thank you all for the quick response.
But I can't edit my network file. I created my network by converting OSM file to NET file using CUBE script. The editor window is not available for it. What to do now?
Editor mode is only available in the GIS Window. I only displayed that because my format was in MDB. If you are working with NET format, it (link specification icon) is also available in the Network Window. You need to click in the green box. There is also an icon for Node Specification to the right of that.
Link Specification in Network Window
This is the problem faced now. I have converted the osm map into network file by scripting.
Though the attribute is there in the network, the software can't recognize it. How to solve this?
You are trying to categorize link specification with text field(s). When using the link specification coloring, for numeric fields you can set as, for example, LANES=1. However, with text fields, you have to add single apostrophes at the beginning and end of the attribute, for example, '7TH AVE N' or 'PRIMARY'. See below:
Text Field color category without apostrophes
The program detected the first instance where the field is not numeric (the letter "T"). The second figure has the inclusion of apostrophes.
Here is the result:
The road is colorized in black whereas all other links are in red. In short, numeric fields do not need apostrophes ('') whereas text fields do need one placed in the beginning and one at the end.
Thank you so much
Thank you so much
you can create a fileds (linktype ) to save the message of road level, such as primary=1,sencondary=2 etc. then you can use the methond surpported by Vipulmodi
