Feedback & Feature Requests
I'd like the ability to set a variable, click on an INode and JNode, and have Cube show me the shortest path (and total cost) from I to J for that variable. Even better would be the ability to sum VariableX on the shortest VariableY path. E.g. sum toll along minimum time, or minimum time along minimum utility.
After this is initially available, it should add the ability to include turn/junction costs as well.
I think Cube can only do it on Izone and Jzone.
On the IJ Node, I thought it was impossible.
It does Inode/Jnode and not only Zones. However, what Robert is asking is something we can look to add in future.
I think I spoke too early on my earlier comment. There is a way to trace Variable Y if paths are built using Variable X. Variable Y can be specified in the 'Additional Trace Value' option in Path Cost Calculation dialog box:
You can then view the trace values for both Variable Y and Variable X like this in the Build Path dialog box. Below Cost 1 and Cost 2 are Variable X and Variable Y respectively.
In the Path Cost Calculation dialog box, you could also input turn costs/penalties as well. The files should be added as inputs in Network Window > Intersection tab first and then these options will be open.
If you need further assistance on this, please feel free to contact email@example.com.
Thanks! It's great to know this was already available.
This is a useful feature when testing and debugging a network.
