Hi, we had our model calibrated to VMT by a consultant.
However, most of our
-all roads etc
Are not within the acceptable 10% margin, many are double or even triple volume...
What are the best practices for fixing this?
There is no definitive answer as what you can do will depend on what data is available. However as a starting point my approach would be to define some strategic screen lines and assess the level of demand across those screenlines as a whole, as opposed to looking at individual links. The idea being to identify what the weaknesses are in the demand matrix and then develop a strategy to first address those.
Once you are happy with the level and distribution of demand, this is the point when I would start looking at the assignment in more detail.
Thanks, we have been looking at our screenlines and using assignment to hone them in, in addition to adding additional counts.
What is the demand matrix, that is an input to the model?
The demand matrix is the origin-destination matrix which gets input into the assignment.
Anyone? Is it faster to email cube support for answers?
Thanks, these are the steps on our model inputs
These are the steps to the outputs
I don't know which one is the OD matrix in the inputs.
